General Mills Cereal Giveaway

We have been able to work with a few sponsors in the past, one has been General Mills. We did a Cheerios promotion which was a great contest.
Like many companies General Mills is trying to go a bit healthier. I would call it their New Years resolution, to reduce sugars in cereals for kids. I have to admit I am guilty to keeping at least one sugary cereal in the house for the little one!
We already know breakfast is an important meal in the day, but eating cereal provides those vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients for a healthy diet. Not only for kids, but for everyone.
I thought this study was a bit interesting:
A 1998 study showed that children who eat breakfast tend to perform better at school. Compared to children who skip breakfast, children who eat breakfast score higher on tests, are less likely to miss class or be tardy, have fewer reported discipline problems, and make fewer trips to the office.
Right now you can go here to print a $1 off coupon for one of four General Mills cereals. It looks like they are offering Trix, Cocoa Puffs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Lucky Charms.
Giveaway
Usually when I work with companies they send me something to giveaway. Well due to lack of products, I wasn’t. However since I was sent 4 coupons valid for a free box of General Mills cereal, I thought I’d share. This should help everyone get together for breakfast!
I am giving away 2 coupons valid for free General Mills cereal, up to a $6 value. Since there are 2 coupons, there will be 2 winners!
To Enter: Simply comment below stating how you feel about New Years Resolutions. Are you making one? Do you think it’s silly? Do you do one every year?
Please only one entry per person, multiple entries will be deleted.
The giveaway is open to residents in the US. Entries are valid through Friday January 1st at 12:00 AM PST. Happy New Year!
The winner will have 48 hours to respond via email before a new winner is selected.
The information and free cereal coupons were all provided by General Mills through MyBlogSpark. The above content was written by me and is my opinion 100%.

I always make New Year’s resolutions! I know many people find them silly but I find it to be an opportunity to try to motivate yourself to be better! If January 1st is an excuse to do that then so be it!
I’m not a big fan of resolutions, because who really keeps them, anyway? But I am hoping to make a life change in saving more money and being frugal. This is something I’ve already started, and I hope to continue doing it and also get better at it, too.
I am choosing a New Years resolution for 2010. I usually decide last minute but I do it every year and last years was to keep a journal and i did and it was great! I think resolutions help us to aquire our goals i also think that you should do a 1/2 resolutions also!!
Every year since I can remember I have made a new years resolution to lose weight (and fail). This year however my news year resolution is too keep up with my diet that I have been on for 3 months. I am doing great and Nothing is going to stop me!!!
I don’t make resolutions…I never follow thru.
I don’t make resolutions, because when I dont follow through on them, I can be really hard on myself. I do use New Years as a time to reflect on the past year and examine what I’d like to change, but I like to think of them as works in progress… then, if there’s a set back, its not so devistating to the psychie.
I usually think about making a resolution but never actually “make” or hold myself accountable. Maybe I’ll change that this year! HA!
Sometimes I make a resolution but I’m not to strick on following them. I do it just for the fun of it.
I usually make a resolution, but I always make it something that I know I can follow through with.
Hope you have a happy new year!
I dont mind the idea of making one, i know i can never do it though
I am going to start the new year off this year with the resolution to try and lose that last 10 pounds that i always say that I am going to lose and never do…lol…i decided to not start any kind of diet until Jan. 1 because why bother with all of the holiday goodies, but I got the kids a wii for christmas and I am getting the wii active and I am going to make myself get up 1/2 an hour early every morning and do it…once i get into the routine, I know i will be fine:)
I always make one, but never follow through. LOL. Everyone has their own things they do. This year, I am making an easy one, that I’ve already started on. I wanna have another baby! lol. Easy! Sort of.
Happy New Year everyone.
New Year’s Resolution helps set goals for the New Year. This time I will set checkpoints throughout the year to evaluate my progress. If I’ve gotten off to a slow start or faltered altogether, I can use these checkpoints to get back on the right track. Hopefully I’ll have made some good change by the end of the 2010.
My New Year’s Resolution is to to eat more fruits and veggies in the upcoming year and not stress about the small things!
I love New Year’s Resolutions! I love the idea of a fresh start, and what better time to realign priorities then January 1st. Better to try and fail then to not try at all….
I’ve made New Year’s resolutions in the past but have never really stuck with them. I think it’s better for me to try to make small needed changes throughout the year than to say I’m going to do x,y, and z beginning Jan. 1st. Afterall, things continually change so you need to be ready for those changes and when you have a big goal, such as losing weight, it’s better to make smaller changes and to continually work on the smaller stuff that supports the bigger picture.
New Year’s resolutions are great, but what I find to be more helpful is making a gratitude list! Write down everything you are thankful for…rather than focusing on what needs fixing, focus on things that are good in your life!
I always make New Years resolutions and this year will be no different, except I am even more determined to keep them.
I am from the PHilippines but me and my 6 year old son arrived here in NY early december., and im getting married on January. Me and my fiance started to jot down our New Years resolution and our plans for the whole Year… and this will be both our first time to do a new years resolution list and we’re excited. some in our list are SPEND less., eat healthy, be fit., and alot more.. I Hope this will give us a fresh start and a blissful year.. Happy New Year to all of you….
I don’t generally do new years resolutions! i did make a decision to get in shape a few months ago though. I just make decisions like that randomly. i don’t really see what all the hype is about new years! I just want to be healthier to set a good example for my 2 little girls! my family has a very strong history of diabetes and that scares me. i don’t want my girls to ever have to worry about that! i just try to eat healthier and work out (the girls really enjoy that too – even though they’re only 3 and 1 and 1/2)!!!
New Years is good annual reminder to sit, reflect and make changes you feel necessary but if a “resolution” comes up in July then I say go for it then
I stopped doing resolutions, because I never kept them up.
I do make New Year resolutions. But it never lasts. I always tell myself that I’ll eat better and exercise more. Needless to say, life just gets in the way.
.
Sometimes I do, but I usually never stick to them. So I try to just do little things throughout the year to make my life better and healthier!
I always make but never keep them. This year my resolution is to try not to use by “blow” money and see how much I have at the end of the year. I think this is one I can really keep!
That’s nice of you.have a great New Years!
i try so hard to stick to my resolutions but I always give in.
I tell myself every year that this year I really plan on keeping my resolution. And for the first week I do then its down hill. Wish I could stick to it.
Every year I say Im going to lose weight and eat better, but it never happens. This year..I say that again, but I have recieved several tools to get me on the right track. I got a Wii fit for Christmas and a DVD with Bollywood dancing, so I will give it a shot again this year. I truely do want to lose weight, so I am going to start small with slight diet changes and to commit my self to some sort of daily exercise and go from there. Happy New Year!
I honestly dont’ think people should want to make a New Year’s Resolution starting on New Years. Why not start sooner?! Who say Jan 1st is when someone should start thinking to better themselves? Why not NOW?! NOW is the best time right?!
I think that most of the time we, in general, make new years resolutions without ever planning on keeping them. We have it in our heads that we are not going to succeed and that is the attitude we keep. I am making a few new years resolutions and I am going to keep a positive attitude whether I keep all of them or not.
ugh…I am torn on the issue of NY resolutions…every year I have made them I have not kept them and then that leads to the vicious cycle of self-loathing LOL if I had more will-power maybe then I would be positive about them…
I think that new year’s resolutions are a great way to set goals for the new year and your future in general. I always write mine down and look at them daily until they become part of my daily routine. Sure, I have let some slip and not fulfilled them, but who hasn’t. That failure one year does not mean that next year it won’t be a success!
I think New Year’s resolutions should be Anyday Resolutions. Why start just at the New Year. Why not on your birthday, or your child’s birthday, or some other holiday or even every month. I think when we set resolutions on New Year’s and fail before the end of January has even been reached then we tend to give up. But if we set shorter goals throughout different times of the year then we have more success at reaching those goals.
I do not believe in New Years Resolutions. If you are going to do something, you will do it no matter what time of year it is. Sure I have made some in the past, but it was just to play along with some friends. Maybe that is what works for some people but not me.
I’ve made about 2 New Year’s resolutions in the past. They didn’t work out so great. I think it’s too difficult to keep goals for an entire year. Maybe small, easy things could work, but I’m just going to do whatever I think I should or should not do next year. Just going to go with the flow
i gave up on resolutions a long time ago…why make em if you don’t keep em!
I think you can make a resolution any time of year, not just on New Year’s.
my new year’s resolution id to start to go to church with my daughter
Resolutions are about trying to do something that you don’t really want to do or else you already would have done it. It usually just sets you up for failure.
I don’t usually do new year resolutions cause I don’t think I can keep up with it. I do admire those who make lots of and are able to make them work.
I think they are a good idea… but I usually only make one… which this year is to add more exercise to my schedule
most people break them but, heck everyday is a new start.
I do not usually make resolutions. I have goals in mind throughout the year, and I make each small change periodically, which helps me turn them into habits and stick to them;)
