Nielsen Homescan Consumer Panel

The Nielsen Homescan consumer panel is made up of people from around the US. Each week you scan the products you buy, and in turn earn points. Those points are redeemed for prizes like electronics, household items, jewelry, toy, gift cards, and more.

However it is very limited, for example I tried to get in, but it’s not available in my area code. You may have better luck.

Just click the banner and enter in the short form along with your name, address, and zip code to see if you are eligible.

Be one of the lucky few. Join Nielsen’s Homescan Consumer Panel today! Click Here

Once you become a NCP panel member all you have to do is scan and send them your household purchase information every week with a handheld scanner that they provide. For each week of the month NCP receives your purchase information, you will earn one entry into the Monthly Sweepstakes where you can win a $500 American Express Rewards Card. That’s up to FOUR entries every month! Every month, 25 panel members win!

I did the Homescan, I personally didn’t like the program. I was on for about 6 months and never had enough points to redeem for anything. They always wanted you to take 20-30 minute surveys after scanning (must submit atleast once a week). And you have to scan every product you buy and enter the exact amount paid and if you had a coupon also the exact dollar amount. It just seemed to much work for a small pay off. The products they do offer for a small amount of points seem like Dollar store products. Hope this helps and Good luck!

I have been on the panel for several years now. It does take some work, but once you get used to the program then it’s not difficult. They ask you to scan everything including the prices for some stores. The surveys you have to do are not as long as they used to be either. I enjoy it myself and I have gotten several of the rewards, most recently I got a Black and Decker coffee maker.

I did it to and had the same experience. I returned my scanner in March and they are still contacting me saying they never recieved it and telling me that I owe them 200 dollars for it. So if you do return it, be sure to keep that tracking number for like a year because they don’t say they didn’t recieve it until months after you’ve sent it back! It was dissappointing because I’d heard such good things about this but bleah…leaves a bad taste in my mouth now.

I’ve been doing this for years trying to get enough points to get something worthwhile. Out of the blue I get a notice saying that this notice was my final one and that I have to have the scanner sent back in 10 days or they would turn me over to a collection agency. I don’t even know what they’re talking about, but I’m sending the scanner back. They’ve called and questioned so many of my scans because at times I buy in quantity. Also, when I’ve called, it took forever to get through and they were really rude. They said after they get my equipment back that I have 60 days to spend my points, but I told them just to donate them. I wash my hands of them. It’s not worth it in the long run. Do a search for Nielsen Homescan reviews and see what others have said. SKIP THIS!

I was a member for 4 months and it was simply too much of a hassle for me to keep up with it. Often times the scanner wouldn’t scan & I did not have the time to go one by one my purchases to enter exact cost, discounts etc.

But for what it’s worth this program was completely free & if you put in the work you do receive rewards. It didnt even cost anything to return the equipment, it was all paid for, just be sure to keep the original packing & the tracking slip. I would recommend this program to those who have the time to actively participate.

I am actually on the panel now and am sending my scanner back, I have been a member for 5 months now and it just takes to much time, especially if you coupon… Everything you purchase has to be scanned and if you used a coupon that goes in as well and you have to key in the price…then if there is meat you have to choose the store then enter the pounds and price per pound and total …and so on and so forth. I never earned enough points for anything, and for 3 months of being a member I did get a bottle opener. So it s not for everyone, I prefer things like crowdtap and swagbucks where I can actually see my earnings.

I was on the panel for about 3 years. Everything was fine until my scanner broke down and they sent a replacement…..which didn’t work properly….they kept calling me saying it wasn’t wired in properly. ….but it was…..i wasn’t scanning….but i was….i wasn’t sending data….but i was. After nearly a year of them continuously phoning and claiming i wasn’t complying and deducting points, i gave up and sent it back

I was on a waiting list for 3 months. I got the scanner and 3 weeks later they want me to return it because I qualify to use their android app. Pretty cool. I like using the app more.
