Earth Day Freebie Round-Up – April 22nd

Over the last few years Earth Day has become an increasingly bigger event with many companies offering various freebies and cash back for recycled and reused products.  This year there are even more companies taking part, so we wanted to listed them all here for you so you have easy access to the list of great freebies and earth friendly events that are going on for Earth Day.

All events listed will be taking place on Friday, April 22, 2011, unless otherwise noted.

Target will be giving away a Free Reusable Shopping bag to their first one million customers that make a purchase, on April 17, 2011.  Last year they bags went very quickly, so be sure to get there as early as possible to score yours!  In addition to this, every time you use this, or any other, reusable shopping bag at Target you receive $0.05 off of your purchase for each reusable bag you use, and for every 10 times you use it you’ll keep 25 plastic bags out of landfills!  All Target’s also have recycling receptacles for plastic bottles, plastic bags, ink cartridges, and eye glasses (at Target Optical).

Starbucks will be giving Free Coffee or Tea to customers that bring in a reusable travel cup that day, at participating stores.

Origins Skin Care Counters will be celebrating Earth Day by giving out Free Samples of Origins High-Performance Skincare Products.  Just bring your empty cosmetic tubes, bottles, jars, etc. – regardless of brand – to your nearest Origins counter and you’ll receive a free sample!

Disney Stores **may be** giving away Free Reusable Shopping bags to customers that bring in 5 plastic grocery bags to recycle from 10am-9pm.  This has not been completely confirmed yet, however they have done this event every year for the passed few years, I will update this as soon as I hear otherwise.  One bag per guest, while supplies last.

Pottery Barn Kids stores will be celebrating Earth Day on April 22nd from 11am-2pm with a fun story time for kids, as well as other earth-friendly activities.  Throughout the day they will be giving kids a special gift that they can plant at home!

Post-It & 3M are giving buyers the opportunity to purchase specially marked recycled products and in return they will plant two trees for each product that is registered.  If you’re stocking up on Post-Its and tape for you office, be sure to consider the recycled items and register them here to help the environment.  You can even have your tree dedicated to some one special.  Valid from April 1 to December 31, 2011.
