When it comes to such horrible disasters like the recent Japan earthquakes it’s amazing that people go out and try to scam others out of donations to charities etc. However the most trustworthy appears to be the Red Cross.

Right now Living Social is offering to match $5 donations to the American Red Cross. Basically your $5 donation is matched and $10 is raised.
