Balboa Park in San Diego offers free admission to museums on Tuesday. The offer is available to San Diego residents and military. Each Tuesday of the month feautures different museums for free.

First Tuesday:  Reuben H. Fleet Science Center, San Diego Natural History Museum, San Diego Model Railroad Museum

Second Tuesday: San Diego Historical Society Museum, Museum of Photographic Arts

Third Tuesday: San Diego Art Institute, San Diego Museum of Art, San Diego Museum of Man, Japanese Friendship Garden, Mingei International Museum

Fourth Tuesday: San Diego Air & Space Museum, San Diego Automotive Museum, San Diego Hall of Champions

The free admission does not typically apply to special events, attractions, or exhibits. Remember that for some of the more popular museums like Reuben H Fleet, you can expect to wait. (especially during summer!)

Strollers are generally not allowed in the museums that are participating in free Tuesday. Last time I went we also had to show ID.
