Walgreens Prescription Savings Club

This post brought to you by Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.

As we all know healthcare is a growing problem in the US with Medical cutting benefits as well as the cost of prescriptions. Everyday I see more cut backs and higher prices. Now Walgreens is suffering with the Express Scripts program. If you get your prescriptions there, it will or has affected you.

As of December 31st, Walgreens and Express Scripts contract has expired as the pharmacy provider network, affecting all Walgreens pharmacies nationwide. This is forcing patients to travel furter, change pharmacists, and potentially pay more.

The Express Scripts program offered savings by offering more generic prescriptions, as well as doing 90 days refills compared to 3 – 30 day refills.

The Solution?

Walgreens is attempting to minimize disruption and costs by offering a special discount on annual membership for its Prescription Savings Club.

If you join the Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens during the January promotion is is only $5, or $10 for a family membership. re than 400 generics are available with a three-month supply for less than $1 a week. Regular annual membership is $20 for an individual and $35 for a family.

A family membership covers everyone in your immediate family, including a spouse, dependents 22 and younger and pets.

Other benefits include:
Savings on more than 8,000 brand-name and all generic medications
Discounts on flu shots, pet prescriptions, nebulizers and diabetic supplies
Bonuses when you purchase Walgreens brand products and photofinishing services
