Wii EA Sports Active Review and Giveaway

At the end of December I picked up the EA ports Active game for a sweet deal at Gamestop, even some of our readers picked up on it. Since then I have been able to do quite a few workouts.

The first mistake I made on this game was starting the 30 day challenge at medium. I definitely underestimated how much of a workout I would actually get. I was doing squats, lunges, running in place, and arm exercises. By the next day I was exhausted!

If you participate in the 30 day challenge you are looking at about 20 minute workouts. By the end of each of them I have worked up a sweat and feel pretty good. With the game you aren’t going to lose a million pounds right away, but putting you on the right track.

The workouts are pretty easy, but I have gotten frustrated with the leg band as well as the resistant workouts. It can become kind of irritating taking the Nunchuk controller in and out of the Nunchuk leg strap, as well as adjusting the resistant bands. However once you get used to it and learn the workouts it becomes a bit easier.

The Workouts

When you do the 30 day challenge none of your routines will be the same, some days you do squats, some days you hit the boxing bag. This keeps it feeling new and the exercises still fun.

My favorite workouts has to be the ones working out the arm and shoulder muscles. If you do them right you can really feel it in your arms, especially if they are muscles you don’t normally use or workout.

The worst one is definitely the rollerblading! It kills my legs. You are supposed to squat while you go down hill, jump, then go back into a squat. This one HURTS and I’ve been guilty of skipping it.

Buy It

This game is about $50 and you can find it pretty much everywhere. I would recommend it on EA Sports Active at Amazon, as it qualifies for free shipping.

This is about HALF of what some of another popular Wii exercise game, that may sway you to try this one.
